The pdeekhl Gitxsan have completed their round of meetings to elect their representatives who will sit as directors of the Gitxsan Treaty Society.
The maximum number of directors from each pdeekhl Gitxsan is three. Each is required to comply with new guidelines that govern the term of office: one for a term of one year, another for a term of two years, and the last for a term of three years.
GISTKAAST (Fireweed Phratry)
The Gistkaast met on Thursday, December 12, 2002 at the Gitxsan Treaty Office board room. The results: Jordann L. Wilson has a term of one year, Merle S. Greene is in for a term of two years, and Aubrey Jackson has three.
LAX SEEL (Frog Phratry)
The Lax Seel meeting determined that the newly elected Jack Sebastian has a term of three years. Sadie Mowatt now has two years left and Barb Clifton one.
LAX GIBUU (Wolf Phratry)
The Lax Gibuu met on Monday, December 9, 2002 at the board room of the Gitxsan Treaty Office. The results: Terry Jack has one more year, Bea Rabocz has two more years, and Roy Wilson was newly elected for a term of three years replacing Wilmer Johnson.
